'Khakee' is a cop-actioner with a difference. Karthi (as DSP Dheeraj) and his team don't just crack the case with their super-human capabilities. They are limited in every way possible. That's why their grit and intelligence is edgy.

'Our film is an edge-of-the-seat crime thriller, based on real incidents that took place between 1995-2005 and it is all about how some cops from Tamil Nadu nab a bunch of ruthless dacoits from Rajasthan despite facing many challenges and even personal losses," the makers say.

Speaking on the hero's performance, they say, "Karthi has gone all out for this movie and his performance, especially in the action sequences, is being praised by everyone. The film has turned out to be a super hit and it is being praised as one of the best cop dramas in the recent times."
