KGF Trailer: Rise Of A Saviour Of The Oppressed

The trailer for 'KGF' successfully drives home its point that, when the going gets tough, the tough get going. Yash plays a saviour-type hero who rises from the masses. But unlike the elitist liberators we have seen in recent films like 'Bharat Ane Nenu', and 'Sarkar', he is a slumdog who rose from no one to a hero through years of struggle.

Call it coincidence or otherwise, he was born in 1951 at a time when the first assault on Kolar Gold Fields happened in Karnataka. He grew up in the crowded and not-so-benign Bombay and went on to script his path. Or, maybe, it's the path that wanted him. As for the ending, the director leaves it to destiny (admittedly).

Kannada star Yash, as the hero, comes with a rugged look. He displays the emotions right in the trailer, placed as he is in the extracting battlefields of the bloodiest gold mine. The refugees in their own land look up to him. This multi-lingual is his first attempt to go pan-Indian.

There are various landscapes, a political party, a woman's exhortative message, and the many night effect shots.

Srinidhi Shetty is the heroine. Written and directed by Prashanth Neel, it also has Ayyapa, B Suresh, Srinivas Murthy, Archana Jois, Roopa Rayappa, Master Anmol, Ananth Nagu, Malavika, Achut Kumar, Naga Bharana, Dinesh Mangalur, Harish Roi, Neenazam Ashwath, introducing Avinash, Ram, Lucky, and Vinay in its cast.

Music-directed by Ravi Basrur, the film has the cinematography handled by Bhuvan Gowda. Shot mainly in India (Kolar, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Kolkata, Mumbai and Ladakh), 'KGF' has lyrics by Ramajogaiah Sastry and dialogues by Hanuman Chowdhary. Vaaraahi Chalana Chitra will release it in Telugu.
