KGF shoot: Cyanide in soil tests the patience of artists

'KGF', the multi-lingual period action-drama starring Kannada star Yash and Srinidhi Shetty as the lead pair, hits the screens on December 21. Its special screening was held today in Mumbai.

Speaking on the occasion, Yash said that it was extremely difficult to shoot for the movie in the Kolar Gold Fields in Karnataka. The very nature of the soil in the region is the reason. "It was very dangerous because cyanide is used to process gold and KGF's soil has the remains of gold and cyanide. We were all barefoot and it was so hot. A lot of times, out of 1500 junior artists, 700 or 800 of them would run away the next morning," he says.

'Baahubali' and 'Saaho' star Prabhas was at the special screening.

The Telugu version of the awaited drama will be released by Vaaraahi Productions. Its pre-release event will be held on Sunday and Rajamouli will grace the occasion as the chief guest.
