Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce

A discussion at Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce to take action on super stars Kichcha Sudeep, Golden star Ganesh and Ramesh Aravind has created inconvenient atmosphere. The decision on the discussion to take action or pass strictures has been deferred to Tuesday evening.

Why action on super stars? The reality show conducted by Kichcha Sudeep in Suvarana TV Big Boss 2`, Ramesh Aravind Week End With Ramesh` in Zee Kannada and proposed reality show of Golden star Ganesh for another television channel has irked the producers. They are from big screen. They are not available to producers and promotion of the films they act but deviate to small screen. In addition to it the reality shows of super stars in fact is a big drain on the collections in the theatres observes some of the producers.

On Monday it was only discussion part and KFCC President HD Gangaraju announced that concerned stars will be inquired on this aspect and decision will be taken soon.

The discussion at one level reached the Ban` on such stars who conduct programs for television channels.

When Kichcha Sudeep and Ramesh Aravind were contacted on this discussion in KFCC to take action - Kichcha Sudeep reacted in an SMS message – Thanks for the update but can`t react on something that has not reached me…

Ramesh Aravind on this move said our constitution gives everyone the basic right to work. If I can act or direct or host a show or write a book or be a radio jockey I would like to explore all avenues. Week end With Ramesh is a positive show celebrating achievers and inspiring young people to succeed.

The reaction is phenomenal and people are so fond of it I would like to finish the first season as per my contract without disturbance. I intend meeting the producers once I return from Chennai next week after completing my directorial Uttama Villain` with Kamalji. Let me first understand their concerns and reasons behind their argument.

Apparently TV channels are the biggest revenue for Kannada films. The TV rights range from Rs.50 lakhs to Rs.5 crores plus for Kannada films depending on the strength of the film.
