On being asked about how why he made the movie the director adds I read his story by Ranjit Desai and realised that he had faced charges of obscenity for painting beautiful nudes'. He further said he that his film is a reaction to the intolerance and extremism faced by painters and artistes alike. I am very stubborn if I believe in something strong enough, I will go ahead and do it', says Ketan Mehta who has always followed his heart in true sense.

The release of Rang Rasiya' may have drained him financially, emotionally and physically but he is all praises for Deep Sahi, his wife, who also happens to be the producer of the movie. I must be the craziest man Deepa has met in her life', says the film maker who credits his wife for standing by him throughout the making of this love story of a passionate artist. He further says A story complete with passion, ambition, persistence, lust and tragedy, Rang Rasiya' is set to be an absolute entertainer'.
