Fifth-year BA English student Namitha Narayanan from Kerala broke the internet over the last week for her tireless dedication to studies against all odds.
As the new academic year has already begun in Kerala, the students are now resorting to online classes conducted by the Government. The dedicated Namitha was trying every possible way to find manageable signal strength for mobile data. Having no luck in finding signal inside her house, she climbed up on the roof of those to get some signal without any disturbance.
"Online classes were started on June 1. However, I could not attend the classes due to the poor network. We tried all places in my house, including verandas and roofs. And finally I got fairly good signal strength on the top of our two-storey house,” she was quoted as saying by The Hindu.
She grabbed the attention of the curious gaze of bystanders and soon the photographs of the girl sitting on the rooftop of her tiled house with an umbrella for hours to take-up the online classes went viral on social media. Knowing the plight of the girl, now a technical staff of a private service provider visited her house and ensured that the girl got high-speed internet.
