The first multiplex in Kerala opened yesterday at Kochi.

Situated at the Oberon Mall, the premier show and the screens were inaugurated by Kerala's youth icon, Prithviraj. The Cinemax multiplex will have four screens which will seat 159, 117, 168 and 177 seats respectively.

The tickets in this multiplex will range from rupees 80 to two hundred and fifty. The first movie to be shown in Cinemax was Prithvi’s new, movie in theatres ‘Thanthonny’. The cities of Kozhikode and Ernakulam are getting equipped with more multiplex centers in the near future, which will help to overcome the shortage of movie screens in these major release centres.
