In a shocking incident, a 35-year-old Kerala woman attacked a youngster with acid for rejecting her love. The incident happened in Kerala's Idukki district on Tuesday. However, the incident came to light only on November 20 after the Police found the CCTV footage of the incident. The woman, identified as Sheeba, poured acid on Arun Kumar, a Trivandrum native near the St Antony's Catholic Church in Irumpupalam around 10 am on Tuesday. She poured the acid while Arun was engaged in a conversation with her. In the acid attack, Arun suffered serious injuries and had lost sight of one eye. Sheeba also received acid burns on her face when Arun tried to evade the attack.
The duo met on a social media platform two years ago and became friends. Later, they fell in love with each other. After learning Sheeba was married and had two children, Arun backed off from the relationship. This angered Sheeba, who found out that Arun was looking for another alliance. She planned the attack and invited him to meet up for one last time. The incident was recorded by a nearby CCTV camera. The video shows Sheeba walking towards him and attacking him with acid. Police arrested Sheeba from her husband's home based on this footage. Arun Kumar is undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.
