Among the Tamil heroes, it is Vijay who has an enviable fan following in Kerala which some trade analysts opine that is equal to the superstars Mammootty and Mohan Lal there. During every Vijay movie release, the Kerala fans do something that turns the focus towards them like during 'Sarkar' they erected a record-breaking high cutout.
For the 'Bigil' release the Kerala fans have made a statue of Thalapathy Vijay as Rayappan from the film and have come pretty close in the resemblance and style. The uniqueness of the statue is it is not set in one place but is placed on an open vehicle which is going around Trivandrum creating very good publicity for the film. This is not the first time the God's Own country Vijay fans have honored him with statues as they have done so right from 2010 during the release of 'Sura'.
