Transgender Sajana Shaji , who was recently in the news after a group of people assaulted her to stop her business, attempted to commit suicide on Tuesday. Before she overdosed herself with medicines, Sajana put up a Facebook live on why she was doing the extreme act. 

In the video Sajana said that she was heartbroken as several people from her transgender community itself tried to defame her through fake campaigns. After seeing the FB video, her friends rushed to her house and found Sajana in an unconscious state. Currently, Sajana is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Ernakulam.

Sajana who was engaged in biriyani sale on the street-side Kochi was assaulted and verbally abused by a vendor. After she shared a video of her breaking down talking about the assault, Sajana received support from the public and many celebs including actor Jayasurya offered financial assistance to her. 

However many people reacted to this on social media insulting her, which lead her to try to kill herself, say reports.
