Corona outbreak: Kerala theatres to shut down for 20 days

In the wake of the spread of coronavirus in the state, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has announced that all movie theaters be shut down till March 31.On Tuesday, the Kerala film producers and distributors association held a meeting and decided to shut down the theaters from Wednesday.
The two films that were slated to hit the screens this month include Mohanlal's highly anticipated big-budget film 'Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham', directed by Priyadarshan and Tovino Thomas-starrer 'Kilometres and Kilometres', directed by Jeo Baby. The state confirmed its 12th coronavirus positive case and in order to curb further spread of the virus, the government has also declared a holiday for educational institutions. However, exams for the 8th, 9th and 10th standard will be held as per the schedule.
