The jury of the Kerala State Film Awards 2014, headed by Paul has been receiving brickbats from various quarters. There is widespread dissatisfaction about the kind of awards that has been declared. Not many are happy with Nivin Pauly winning the Best Actor Award.
There is an opinion that Mammootty has a better option with movies like 'Munnariyippu' and 'Varsham', while some mentioned Jayasurya for his performance in 'Apothecary'. Awarding Nazriya the Best Actress Award was also seen by many as inappropriate.
