For the past one week, Kerala had been consistently reporting more number of recovered cases than new cases each day. But on Wednesday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced that 11 more people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the state. Among the 11 persons, 7 are from Kannur, 2 from Kozhikode, 4 are from Palakkad, and one each from Malappuram and Kottayam districts.
One of the infected is a female health worker. 5 persons came from abroad while 3 others contracted the disease through contact. With this, the total number of cases rose to 437 at present, and 127 people are undergoing treatment for coronavirus in the state. As of Wednesday, 29,150 people are under observation in Kerala, the CM added.
While Kerala was lauded for successfully bending the COVID-19 curve in the state, this fresh spike in cases worries the people in the state.
