A surprise raid conducted by the Kerala Police has resulted in the seizure of many sharp and dangerous weapons from the BJP’s District headquarters in Kannur.
The BJP tried its best in gaining a foothold in Kerala, dominated by the Congress and the CPI-M for many years. It even held a rally in which its national president Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh chief-minister Yogi Adityanath participated. Even this rally didn’t evoke the desired response from the masses.
Violence marred the rallyorganized by the ruling CPI-M in Panur against the "Sangh Parivar" consisting the BJP and the RSS. It was reported in the local press that the BJP cadres indulged in violence including hurling petrol bombs at Marxist cadres resulting in 18 cadres getting injured and hospitalized.
Following this attack, the Kannur police raided the District headquarters of the BJP and recovered iron rods, petrol bombs and a few swords and other weapons which might cause destruction. The police are interrogating the issue further.
