Franco Mulakkal, the former bishop, has been in the news for several months now. He has been accused of raping a nun from Kerala. A non-bailable warrant (NBW), too, is also in place against him, thanks to a development in the case earlier this week.

The news is that the fallen bishop has tested positive for Coronavirus. His health is said to be somewhat badly hit, as per his PRO. The accused, who has been an object of severe social media trolling, has been placed under isolation in a containment zone in Punjab's Jalandhar.

It may be recalled that the sexual abuse case against Franco was registered by police in Kerala's Kottayam district in 2018. An SIT has since charged him with wrongful confinement, rape, unnatural sex and criminal intimidation.
