Amid the COVID-19 lockdown, the ATMs and banks in Kerala have witnessed a huge rush. Following this, the Kerala Government has come up with a new initiative. For those who are unable to withdraw money from banks or ATM's, the postal department of Kerala to come to the aid.

The Kerala government has allowed a new initiative that will see the postal employees delivering cash to homes for free. Yes. You read it right! The facility can be availed by those who have accounts in the 119 participating banks and 24 non-banking companies. Also, the account owner should have linked his bank account with his Aadhar. Up to Rs 10,000 will be delivered in cash at free of cost.

To avail, the service all you need to do is call up the post-office and inform that you need to withdraw money and give him your address. When the postman arrives at your home, show him the proofs such as your bank details, phone number and Aadhar Number. After you tell him the amount you want to withdraw, the transaction will begin.

Soon you will receive a one-time password on your mobile phone, that has to be shared with the postman. You will have to submit a biometric identification to authenticate your identity. Once the transaction is successful, the postman will hand-over the money to you. A maximum amount of Rs 10,000 can be withdrawn at a time using the service.
