In the wake of reports that Kavya Madhavan is to be arrested by the investigating team, a week ago the actress filed an anticipatory bail at the Kerala High court in connection with the February 17 actress attack case. The latest update is that the Kerala High Court rejected the bail plea as the prosecution has guaranteed that she would not be arrested.
In her bail plea, Kavya Madhavan stated that a group of "unscrupulous senior police officers" are trying to destroy Dileep's entire family by implicating her name in the case. “Despite completely destroying the life and promising career of Dileep and that of his teenage daughter in the process, a group of unscrupulous senior police officers, a small-but-powerful section of the film industry and scores of obliging media personnel are trying to destroy Dileep’s entire family by implicating Kavya in the case and arresting her,” reads the statement.
She further added that the SIT has been repeatedly torturing, humiliating and harassing her in public by allowing Pulsar Suni to talk to media while he is taken to court and do the guessing job against her. Kavya's name was involved in the case after Suni said that he visited Kavya's residence in Kochi before the crime in February and after the abduction, Suni visited Laksyah, an online apparel store run by the actress and also received money from her. However, Kavya has been repeatedly denying the allegations.
Meanwhile, the court has postponed the bail plea of director Nadirshah, who was summoned for questioning on September 17.
