Ilaiyaraja gets a precious gift promised before 25 Years

Ilaiyaraja who has reached the 1000th film milestone with the recently released Tharai Thappattai` received the Nishagandhi Puraskaram` award from Kerala state government on 20th January, i.e., yesterday.

Oommen Chandy the Chief Minister of Kerala presented the award to the legendary musician and said while addressing the media, that Kerala takes the pride of honouring the maestro for his work. He added that the government had promised Ilaiyaraja to provide 5 acre land to start his music academy in 1990 and the promise is now going to get fulfilled after 25 years.
