Kerala extends lockdown again!

On May 29th, Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced that the ongoing lockdown has been extended till June 9. Though the test positivity has come down, the lockdown can be lifted only if the Test Positivity Rate stays below 15 percent for a minimum of three consecutive days. Due to this, only certain relaxations have been announced. With a significant drop in the Test Positivity Rate (TPR), the triple lockdown in the Malappuram district has been withdrawn.

As per the new relaxations, the industrial organizations will be allowed to function with 50 percent of staff strength. The KSRTC will conduct services to industrial organizations if required. Banks, textiles, footwear shops, and jewelry shops can function from morning 9 to evening 5 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Bars and liquor outlets will remain shut though.
