Two middle-aged men from Kerala's Kollam district has been booked for selling one liter of black tea labeled as foreign liquor for Rs 900. The incident happened on the eve of Monday at a bar, where a middle-aged man approached two youths with the bottle.
Believing that he was a bar employee trying to sell the liquor outside the bar, as the counter was about to be closed, the youth bought the bottle at the asked price. Only after they reached home and opened the bottle, the youths realized that they were cheated by the man.
Following the youth's complaint, an excise team reached the bar and examined the CCTV footage of the bar. Only then it was realized that it was not a bar employee. The footage showed a middle aged man accompanied by someone else selling the bottle and leaving the place immediately in an auto-rickshaw.
Though the accused were identified from the footage, the excise department couldn't file a case as the act on the whole was cheating.
