Vijaykant is in consultation with a Kerala based astrologer. He is seeking guidance on the date auspicious for floating a new party and also on the name. The first name suggested was Tamizh Muneetra Kazhakam and later it was decided that it should be Tamizh Munnetra Congress Kazhagam. The reason for keeping the words was that Vijaykant during his school days was a DMK activist who went to jail for the anti- Hindi agitation. Later on when MGR left DMK and formed AIADMK, Vijaykant joined AIADMK. When Vijaykant came to Chennai he was close to congress leader Moopnar since the actor’s father too was a congress worker. Vijaykant’s close friend Ibrahim Rowther too is a close supporter of Congress. Considering all this the actor and his fans felt that the party should have a mixed composition of a Dravidian and Congress party.
