If KCR is the undisputed king of Telangana and Naveen Patnaik of Odisha, it has to be Arvind Kejriwal when it comes to Delhi. Today's election results say it all. The Aam Admi Party has won a stupendous 56-seat victory in the 70-seat Assembly, leaving the BJP with the rest. The Congress party has gone for a duck.

Kejriwal, who became the city-state's Chief Minister in February 2015, fought on the development plank. Besides the improved status of schools, free electricity and water have made his party a hit with large sections of voters. Lakhs of those voters who chose Modi's BJP in 2019 for Lok Sabha shifted to AAP this month.

As per some AAP leaders, the BJP's defeat is a defeat of communal politics. Even West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that the people of Delhi have rejected CAA, NRC and NPR by defeating Amit Shah's party.

The BJP will learn its lessons the hard way. It's a leaderless party in the State. That's why it has lost the game. Moreover, the Congress party transferred its votes to the AAP.
