Renowned actress Keerthy Suresh, who married her long-time boyfriend Antony Thattil on December 12, 2024, has been actively promoting her latest film, Baby John. During these appearances, she has been seen wearing a turmeric thread around her neck instead of the traditional gold mangalsutra, prompting curiosity among fans.

In a recent interview with Galatta India, Keerthy clarified the significance of this practice. She explained that the sacred turmeric thread, tied during the wedding ceremony, is traditionally worn until an auspicious date is identified to replace it with a gold chain. Keerthy mentioned that, in her case, the suitable date falls towards the end of January. She stated, "There's a reason behind why I am wearing it to every promotion because we are not supposed to remove the sacred thread... I don't think we found an auspicious date and the date is towards the end of Jan."

Embracing the cultural significance, Keerthy expressed her appreciation for the turmeric thread, noting, "It is sacred and also supposed to be very powerful... I thought it looked hot! I am happy that I am flaunting it."

Following their traditional wedding ceremony in Goa, Keerthy shared heartfelt moments from the event on Instagram, captioning the post "#ForTheLoveOfNyke." The couple, dressed in traditional attire, were seen joyfully participating in the rituals, accompanied by their dog.

Baby John, directed by Kalees and presented by Atlee, was released on Christmas Day. The film features Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, Rajpal Yadav, and a cameo by Salman Khan. It is co-produced by Priya Atlee, Murad Khetani, and Jyoti Deshpande-led Jio Studios.
