Popular action hero of the 90s, Arun Pandian's daughter Keerthi Pandian, who had been working on plays is all set to make her debut as the female lead in Tamil with the upcoming movie Thumbaa directed by debutant Harish Ram and co-starring Darshan and Dheena.

With the movie releasing this week, the pressmeet of Thumbaa was held recently, and during the event, Keerthi broke down during her speech. After being invited by Dheena to speak, being called as Thumbaa's Ramba, she said that she had become good friends with Darshan and Dheena, and that she was given full freedom on the sets. When she spoke of director Harish, she started crying uncontrollably on stage.

After getting back to normalcy, she said that she had listened to many stories after deciding to act, and said that many directors had rejected her, saying that she was very slim and was dark skinned, and this had impacted her mindset. She said that, even as many top directors rejected her, Harish chose her, and gave her confidence, and in the movie she'll be in shorts for most of the scenes, and it was the director who gave her confidence.
