Keanu Reeves stopped during an interview with Stephen Colbert on "The Late Show," when Colbert referenced the 25th anniversary of "The Matrix." Reeves struggled to come with the appropriate words and stopped to consider the influence of the movie.

After steadying himself, Reeves commented, "The Matrix" transformed my life and over the years it has favorably impacted so many others." As an artist, you want to produce work that really connects with people.

Clearly moved, Reeves said, "Meeting people who have been touched by 'The Matrix' in such a wonderful manner... The best sensation is this one.

Though Reeves was already well-known for parts in "Speed," "Point Break," and "My Own Private Idaho," it was the Wachowski sisters' 1999 blockbuster that shot him to international fame. In three follow-up films, "The Matrix Reloaded" (2003), "The Matrix Revolutions" (2003), and "The Matrix Resurrections" (2021), he reprised Neo.

Reeves related being approached to return as Neo after 18 years in a 2021 visit on Graham Norton's chat program. "I was shocked and responded, 'But I'm dead,' when the director inquired about making another "Matrix" movie. She answered, "Are you?" and I found myself interested. She crafted a wonderful narrative, and I enjoy playing Neo. We will explain how I am alive.

Reeves' emotional attachment to "The Matrix" and its viewers is evidence of the revolutionary film's continuing legacy.
