Gnanavelraja loses the all important election

K.E. Gnanavelraja one of the most prominent South Indian producer and distributor has lost the elections of the Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalput region Tamil Film Distributors Union, in which he contested for the President's post.

T.A. Arulpathi the incumbent president has won again and except for the post of joint treasurer all the other major office bearers won from his side.  Gnanavelraja who resigned his Producer Council Honorary Secretary post to contest in the Distributors election garnered 194 of the total 469 votes polled which was 54 short of what Arulpathi recieved.
