It's known that KCR has been slamming the Centre over the paddy procurement row. The state government has been demanding that the Modi government must procure more than 90 per cent of the rice grains produced in Telangana during the last Rabi season. Its claim is that it is fighting for the welfare of 61 lakh farmers.
On Monday, the Telangana Chief Minister upped the ante and gave a 24-hour deadline to the Centre. He also warned of political consolidation against the BJP. "We will create an earthquake in the country taking along like-minded parties," he has been quoted as saying, doing a wordplay on Piyush Goyal's second name by saying, 'Piyush Golmaal'.
He warned the Prime Minister that any government that messes with farmers is doomed. "Nobody is permanent," KCR said, demanding that the Centre should formulate a new agri policy.
KCR also warned of intense protests if the Centre doesn't acquire paddy from T farmers.
