KCR's vaccine company-related comments spark row

At a time when BRS is seeking a national mandate and is confident of forming the government at the Centre under the wise leadership of statesman K Chandrasekhar Rao, the party is receiving negative publicity on social media.
Recently, KCR revealed that he was in favour of permitting the Covid-19 vaccines made by Pfizer to be administered to Indians. He suggested that he tried to influence the NDA government at the centre through NITI Ayog.
The multi-national pharma giant's vaccines were not allowed by the Modi government. The Telangana CM complained that the Centre was against Pfizer setting shop in India.
KCR's comments in favour of Pfizer (whose vaccines, by the way, have been seen as having excessive negative side effects) have sparked a row. Netizens have been reminding him that Pfizer wanted to bypass local trials and also sell at whatever price they decided. The Centre didn't allow the company to have its way.
The company's humiliating terms such as mortgage of sovereign assets made it impossible for a self-respecting nation like India to deal with them, reminded Amit Thadhani, a Mumbai-based surgeon.
Ironically, KCR made the remarks in support of the foreign company in the context of criticizing Modi on the failure of Make in India.
