KCR questions BJP over Hijab row

Hours after the Karnataka High Court today said that wearing Hijab is not an essential religious practice under Islam, KCR slammed the BJP for raking up the issue to allegedly create tensions. The Telangana Chief Minister made the remarks on the floor of the Assembly.
"What does the government have to do with who wears what? Why the hijab controversy? Why are you charging up the atmosphere?," the TRS supremo has been quoted as saying by ANI.
This is not the first time that KCR has taken such a stance on the hijab row. When the issue cropped up in February, he accused the BJP of raking up tensions in Karnataka. "Bengaluru is No. 1 when it comes to IT sector. What is happening today in Karnataka? Small girls are being attacked by Rakshasas. Communal fanatics are making Silicon Valley into Kashmir Valley. Our country's ethos can't be ruined. If harmony goes, nobody will invest in India. BJP is a foolish party," KCR lamented.
In its order earlier today, the Karnataka HC upheld the ban on hijab in educational institutions.
