On Tuesday, in a move towards a New Revenue Act, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao abolished the system of VROs and VRAs. On Wednesday, addressing the Assembly, the CM further enunciated on the merits of the new Act.
He launched a transparent digital portal named Dharani that possesses the land details of the entire State of Telangana. Agricultural and non-agricultural categories of lands are worked towards offering transparency to the end-user as well as decision-makers involved.
Discretionary powers of babus have been taken away on land issues. A report by a TV channel said that an auto-lock system software that stops registration of land will be automatically activated if the land is not supposed to be registered again.
"Every inch of land in the State will be undertaken for a new land survey. The government will designate land-owners with fool-proof coordinates," a report says.
Besides abolishing the VRO system, all revenue courts stand abolished. Disputes will be dealt with only by the civil court. As many as sixteen fast-track tribunals of the High Court will dispense the extant cases with revenue courts.
Already, a holiday for land registrations across Telangana till further orders has been announced.
