Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the BJP Telangana President, on Monday lashed out at the KCR government. He said that there is no proper official data pertaining to tests and Covid-19 cases in the State.

"There are as many as 25 testing labs that are eligible to carry out tests. They are capable of doing 15,000 tests per day. Why are tests stuck at just 500 cases?" Kumar asked, alleging that the government is not transparent.

"It's only because of lack of adequate tests that coronavirus is spreading in the State. When other States are revealing district-wise data, why is the KCR government not doing it?" he asked.

The BJP leader alleged that the government is threatening labs in the State with criminal cases if they perform tests. "Even after ICMR has permitted them, why is the government not letting them do tests?" he asked.

Kumar alleged that PG students/doctors are being warned that they will be punished or penalized if they complain about Covid-19. "Recently, a gynecologist suffered for seven days and kept saying that she was showing symptoms of Covid-19. Despite repeated requests, she was not tested. After she was tested, she turned out to be positive," he added.
