Ex Indian Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao's birth centenary will be celebrated on a grand scale. The Telangana government is making arrangements to glorify his legacy. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhara Rao on Wednesday announced that a committee would be formed for the purpose.
The celebrations will begin from June 28. "The committee will be headed by Keshava Rao. The late Congress leader's son and daughter, among others, are going to be part of it," a report says.
"I wholeheartedly applaud and congratulate Hon’ble CM's decision to celebrate the centenary of former PM Late Sri PV Narsimha Rao Garu. One of the most versatile and underrated Prime Ministers of India who has brought in bold economic reforms and a great Telugu/Telangana son," IT Minister KT Rama Rao said.
PVNR, who hailed from Telangana, is considered the architect of game-changing economic reforms. His term (1991-96) saw India make progress on the economic front. PVNR passed away on 24 December 2004.
