Kavya Ajit's 'Kerala Diaries', the new version of Asianet's theme song Shyama Sundara Kera Kedara Bhoomi' composed by A.R Rahman has been released on YouTube. As expected, the song turned out to be a chart buster and perfect visual treat for the viewers. The quintessentially Malayali song, one that brims with nostalgia, captures all the pristine beauty of our land, its flowers, and nature.
Capturing the true essence of Vembanad and Punnamada lakes in Alleppey, with an ever beautiful face of singer Kavya Ajit in the frame, the video was launched by the sensational Gopi Sunder. Going by the social media response, Kavya Ajit has struck the right chord this time. Time will only tell if the singer Kavya Ajit will move onto acting front. The song has a beautiful interlude in between composed by Kavya herself which makes it a stand apart from the original version.
Directed by Vishnu Udayan, assistant of Bash Mohammed, the melodious track sketches the beauty of the state so well such that it immediately transports you to the backwaters, expansive greenery, swaying coconut palms, snakes boats and so on that make Kerala so unique. Contrasting to the usual Kerala songs, Kerala Diaries also cover a little bit of urban life.
'Kerala Diaries' has a host of newcomers behind the camera, most of whom are college going students. The song is reprogrammed by Surya Prasad and re mixed by Sujith Hydher of Octave Studios. On the visual front, Anand Yesodaran, a Masscom student of Mar Ivanious college, Trivandrum and Athira Sidharth have cranked the camera with Thulasi Vishwanadhan cutting the visuals.
