Keen to play varied roles in his movies is young Jeeva. His `Kattradhu Thamizh', which carries a lofty theme, is ready for release this week-end. The movie was initially titled `Thamizh MA'.
A debutant Ram, a former associate of veteran Balu Mahendra is wielding the megaphone for the movie.
According to him, the movie is a mix of commercialism and classicism. In a nutshell, it is the story of a Tamil postgraduate who is unable to carve a niche for himself and the pains he has to undergo in the process.
A newcomer Anjali plays opposite Jeeva. Karunaas plays a prominent role while director Azhagam Perumal is also in the cast.
Jeeva plays the male protagonist (Prabhakaran) and appears in four different roles. According to Jeeva, "It is one of the challenging roles that I have played in my short career so far. All credits to Ram for conceiving a different storyline. It carries a strong message too.
Anjali plays a conservative girl Anandi. She is one of the talented actresses to emerge in Tamil cinema and I am confident that she would win awards and accolades for her performance".
Jeeva says, "The movie is laced with right commercial elements. We are confident that it would strike chord with the masses".
Heaping laurels on Jeeva's performance, Karunaas said, "I admire Jeeva for his dedication and sincerity. I have acquired the distribution rights for the movie in Tamil Nadu and the movie would be released with over 80 prints this weekend".
Yuvanshankar's music is a major highlight. He has brought out the emotions and travails of the male protagonist, says Ram.
