Actor Karthi was last seen on screen in Dev directed by Rajath Ravishankar, and co-starring Rakul Preet Singh, and the actor's next release is the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial Kaithi, which is produced by Dream Warrior pictures and is expected to release in September.

The actor has been shooting two movies currently, and after the first schedule of his untitled movie co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, the actor went on to shoot for his movie with Jeetu Joseph, co-starring Jyothika and Nikhila Vimal, and now has resumed shooting for Rashmika's movie.

This movie directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan was earlier rumoured to be titled as Sultan, and now the female lead Rashmika herself has confirmed it with her Instagram stories where she has mentioned the movie name as Sultan. It must be noted that a decade back Rajnikanth had planned to act in an animation movie in the same name.
