Kathir, who had amazed the audience with his last release, the critically acclaimed flick Pariyerum Perumal directed by Mari Selvaraj, is all set to surprise the audience with his next choice of script. After playing a variety of roles in movies like Madha Yaanai Koottam, Kirumi, Vikram Vedha, Kathir will now join the league of actors who have played cops on screen.

Kathir will be donning the khaki in his next, titled Sathru, directed by debutant Naveen Nanjundaan, and the movie stars Srushti Dange, who was last seen in movies like Dharmadurai as the female lead. Sathru will have Kathir playing a police officer named Kathiresan, and he will be pitted against Laguparan, who had earlier played the lead role in the movie Raatinam.

Having been in the making for more than a year, the team has now come up with an official update that the teaser of Sathru will be released on January 5. It must be noted that Kathir had previously played a police informer in the Anucharan directorial Kirumi, and has not graduated to play a cop himself.
