Kathi Mahesh expelled from Hyderabad

Kathi Mahesh was in for a jolt on Monday when the Hyderabad police issued orders against him entering the city. This is an order to expel the film activist from Hyderabad for a period of six months.
The self-styled commentator has to seek the permission of police before he can enter the city. He being a media person and a publicity-hungry 'intellectual', the latest move will prevent him from doing some things (like attending live discussions, etc) to an extent.
This crackdown is not limited to Kathi. A popular 24/7 news channel, too, has been issued a notice for violating programme code under the Cable TV Regulation Act. By telecasting a debate in which Kathi made derogatory remarks against Lord Rama, "the channel has endangered peace", the Telangana DGP has been quoted as saying.
