Veteran actor Sathyaraj started his film career as an extra before graduating into a villain and then went on to rule the roost as one of the most favorite heroes in the late eighties and nineties. The role of Katappa in 'Baahubali' is a watershed in his career. His son Sibi Sathyaraj too has carved a niche for himself appearing in offbeat movies.

There are rumours on the internet that Sathyaraj's daughter, Divya Subbaiah, is also making her debut in movies soon.

Divya has clarified saying, "I have been practicing as a nutritionist for about 7 years and consult at two clinics in Chennai.I am currently doing my Ph.D. in nutrition. Although I respect the film industry a lot and watch a lot of movies, I have never been interested in a career in films.I have been part of a documentary film on health and nutrition but I was never inclined towards feature films."
