For the past few years, there has been a politics with cows, and the violence against those who eat beef has been on the rise. Recently, a person had uploaded a photo of him having beef soup and following this few people attacked the person by barging into his house.

With the person getting treatment in hospital, there has been a lot of posts on social media supporting the person who had beef and many posts condemning the attack. In such a situation, DMK MP Kanimozhi had tweeted that only the person who eats decides what he eats and not others. Her tweet had received mixed reactions from netizens.

Actress Kasturi has posted a tweet questioning Kanimozhi, "In the 60 years of Dravidian rule in Tamil Nadu, there are many families in Tamil Nadu which are not even sure if they will have the next meal, and I know several religions which have food restrictions. Is Kanimozhi blaming those religions?" questioned Kasturi.
