BJP leader killed ahead of election!

Militants have killed a leader belonging to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ruling BJP in disputed Kashmir just ahead of the next round of polling displaying how violence has impacted elections. The killing took place in Anantnag district located in India's only Muslim-majority state.
Gul Mohammad Mir had been in his house in south Kashmir, when the militants barged in and opened fire on him. He belonged a local unit of Bharatiya Janata Party. The incident has been called as a terror crime by police, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi took it to Twitter to express that there is no place for such violence in our country. At the other end,a polling station allocated for voting was set ablaze in Shopian area.
Due to these violence outbreak,voter turnout is expected to take a beating, as already less than 10 percent turnout was achieved in the previous rounds of election, and the six-week long election ends on May 19.As per the National Crime Records Bureau in 2016 there were more than 100 political murders.Guerrillas killed 15 police commandos and their driver in western Maharashtra last week, and Maoists killed two police in Chhattisgarh last month besides also attacking a political convoy and killed five people including a BJP leader.
