Kashinath passes away

One of the epoch making personalities of Kannada cinema Kashinath, actor, director, writer, and producer passed away on early Thursday morning at Sri Shankara Hospital. He was admitted to this hospital two days ago. He was affected with cancer decease.
Starting as director in mid 70’s from Aparoopada Athigalu, Kashinath went on with comedy laced and double meaning dialogue films. A few of his works as director were medically appropriate.
In the Kashinath camp were Sunil Kumar Desai, Upendra and V Manohar – all the three later shaped up well and felt proud for Kashinath School in their career.
It is Anubhava and Ananthana Avanthara that rocked with maximum of results. The battle in the censor and path breaking approach was never thought of in the Indian cinema at that time. Out of his 43 films as director Aparichita, Anubhava, Anamika, Ananthana Avanthara, Ajagajanthara, Hedthi Helidare Kelabeku etc were in top grade in the box office. From ‘Anubhava’ he turned actor. Films like Avale Nanna Hendathi, Chapala Channigaraya, Avane Nanna Ganda, Ssh.., in the past and Zoom, Chowka very recently saw different actor in Kashinath.
The song in ‘Chowka’ Appa I Love You…..shot on Kashinath veteran actor and Manvitha Harish was a huge hit. The song has received magnificent hits in you tube.
Kashinath was a firm believer on certain things in his professional career. He never took risk financially as a producer. He believed in screenplay. A monkey can be a hero and film turn super hit in case screenplay is good he had mentioned in the past.
Hailing from Kundapura of Dakshin Kannada district Kashinath was no double multi talented like the Tamil counterpart K Bhagyaraj. A few of K Bhagyaraj films Kashinath repeated in Kannada.
In my decades of experience I have worked hard and happily spent time in cinema. I have the idea of making a film to reach the Oscar level he explained as the guest at Belli Hejje in 2013 conducted by Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy.
May his soul rest in peace!
