There is nothing special in the story of Sudeep-Rakshitha starred "Kashi from Village" directed by Sai Prakash. It is a story, which has many familiar, plots already seen in many Kannada and non-Kannada films. But still the film may well recover its investment and also make some profit for the producer because the beaten track narration may not bore you and the film's charismatic stars have discharged their responsibilities perfectly. Both Sudeep and Rakshitha make a lively pair and remain the film's major attraction. But it could have been better if director Sai Prakash could have worked hard to create some original sequences than borrowing ideas and scenes from other films.

"Kashi from Village" is an out and out Sudeep film, but Rakshitha has been able to salvage her reputation because she has been able to prove her credentials in the comedy sequences of the film. Even though there are predictable sequences that are added up to the script, Sudeep has been able to show his strength as an actor. It looks as if director Sai Prakash has just abdicated his responsibility to make a good film and has left everything to the lead actor.

The story of the film is Kashi centric and shows how he sacrifices every thing to get his brother educated. Kashi is still in his teens when his sick mother extracts a promise from him that he will educate his brother well. His mother dies later. Kashi comes from village to the city to work in several places to get his brother into school and college. His brother is studying for medicine and Kashi is just waiting to see him work as a doctor in a poor locality. But unfortunately, some goons who are acting at the behest of an underworld don kill his brother. The don is enraged that his daughter is in serious love with Kashi'sbrother and decided to kill him. A furious Kashi decides to fight with the Don and save his daughter who has now become pregnant. Kashi and the Don are on the two sides of the fence and the game starts between them in the second half. How Kashi emerges victorious forms the rest of the story.

Sudeep's performance is the highlight of the film. He is good in the action and sentimental sequences. His dialogue delivery has added some value to the performance. Rakshitha is lively in the comedy sequences and again shows her prowess in the dance sequences. . Sathya Prakash is good as a villain. Bank Janardhan, Harsha and Sara Shivakumar are adequate. But Dharma's mannerisms are really pain in the neck. Surprisingly Koti who has done good work in all the Kannada films he has worked for has delivered a mediocre work as a music director. "Kichcha, Kichcha" song is well shot. "Kashi from village'' is a watchable film, but may well be a perfect one for Sudeep's fans.
