It was on this day before two years that the state lost one of its greatest leaders and politician, Kalaignar M Karunanidhi, former chief minister of Tamil Nadu and president of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

On the second death anniversary of the leader, many have been sharing their messages expressing their respect for Karunanidhi and the moments they shared with him, besides listing his achievements.

Actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam president Kamal Haasan, who shared a close bond with Karunanidhi has tweeted "He constructed a statue for Thiruvalluvar and took Tamil and Tamil scholars to people whenever he got an opportunity. Kalaignar is a person who has got immersed in Tamil and memories of Tamil people".
