One popular genre that Bollywood has been ignoring from a long time is superhero genre. Earlier, Kartik Aaryan was set to collaborate with director Vasan Bala, who also directed the superhero flick 'Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota', for a comic superhero adaption. Kartik was set to play the superhero Phantom in it and the project was to be bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala who is know for producing off beat yet amazing films. However, the latest reports suggest that the film has been put on hold with the joint agreement of the trio.
A source shared, "It’s a big budget film, and will be revisited at the right time, when the market is back to normalcy."
After scrapping the plans for Phantom for now, Ronnie wants to bring Kartik for a different projects which is helmed by the master, Hansel Mehta. The source revealed, "It’s based on a real-life incident and Kartik has had multiple discussions with Hansal on the subject. He is excited to be a part of his world, and explore another side of him as an actor. The timelines are being worked upon, as Hansal is working on giving final touches to the script. If everything goes as planned, it will go on the floors in last quarter of 2021."
