It needs no explanation on Sivakumar's love for Tamil. And it was visible at the wedding of his youngest son Karthi Sivakumar in Coimbatore on Sunday, as the marriage was performed as per Tamil tradition and rituals.

The hymns were chanted in Tamil, figurines of Tamil God Lord Muruga with His Consorts were brought to the marriage hall, and the family members of Sivakumar, including Suriya and Jyothika, were dressed as per Tamil tradition.

Relatives of the actor's family from in and around Coimbatore attended the wedding in large numbers and this made the Sivakumars extremely happy. "This is a memorable occasion for us," said a Coimbatore native, who is a relative to Karthi.

Equally elated were the relatives of the bride, Ranjini. One of her uncles said, "She is a nice girl and is a perfect fit for Sivakumar's family. We are happy that she has married Karthi, who too is a native of Kongu land."
