Actor Karthi will be back on screens this Diwali with his action movie Kaithi, the second movie of director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who had debuted with Managaram before two years, and has already started shooting his third movie, Thalapathy 64 starring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi.
Kaithi revolves around a prisoner played by Karthi and a police officer played by Narain and about incidents happening in one night, and the movie does not have any female lead or songs. With music by Sam CS, the movie was completely shot in nights.
In a recent interview, Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed two movies which gave him lot of references for Kaithi. Lokesh has said that Kamal Haasan’s Virumandi and John McTiernan’s Die Hard starring Bruce Willis gave him lot of references, and that he has given credits to both these films in Kaithi.
