Filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, who is now enjoying the success of his film Mahaan with Vikram and Dhruv Vikram in lead roles already stated that he penned the story for RC15 and Shankar is developing it in his own style now he has spilt some bean on how he got to associate with the film.

Karthik Subbaraj shared, "Mani Ratnam sir and Shankar sir initiated a group for directors to interact with each other and discuss the development and to have a friendly relationship between directors. I developed a good bonding with Shankar sir with this new initiative, and one day he asked me to help in writing the story for his next. I immediately agreed and also delivered the story on time."

When asked about the storyline, Karthik Subbaraj refused to divulge any details. But he said "The story is an old one from my list, and I developed that into a strong concept. Shankar sir was also impressed with it, and he is happily working on it."

'RC 15' features Ram Charan and Kiara Advani in lead roles with several popular stars in important roles. The pan-Indian drama is produced by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations, and it has music scored by Thaman.
