Director Karthik Subbaraj had made a mark in Kollywood with his unique movies like Pizza, Jigarthanda, Iraivi and Mercury and had recently reached greater heights as he got to direct his matinee idol, Superstar Rajnikanth himself in the blockbuster movie Petta.

Following the super success of Petta, it was expected that Rajnikanth might work again with Karthik Subbaraj, while it was also said that Karthik Subbaraj might be re-starting his long delayed project with Dhanush, to be produced by Y Not Studios.

However the latest buzz making rounds is that, Karthik Subbaraj might next direct a movie starring Rajnikanth's son in law, but its not Dhanush, but his second son in law Vishagan. Vishagan, an actor who had been a part of Vanjagar Ulagam got married to Soundarya Rajnikanth recently, and is now said to team up with Karthik Subbaraj. An official clarification is expected soon.
