The just out ‘Mercury’ trailer from Karthik Subbaraj seems to be a blend of ‘out in the open’ and claustrophobic visuals. So is the trailer’s music background of punctuated halts and sudden shrills. For instance, you actually feel the towering height and the vast expanse of other side in a camera movement that could be called eccentric and guiddiness inducing.
And we also do get a motion prelude to the film’s poster where Prabhu seems screaming his heart out. Sathosh Narayanan’s bgm in the trailer evokes all that you’d expect a thriller trailer to, like the clear howling noise of the wind to those abrupt string stacattos that is as high voltage as is the expression on the faces of characters.
For a trailer of 102 seconds, it packs a lot of well-worked design elements that flashes intermittently. You could even call it a ‘greenish’ trailer with bright & low hues that might suggest a content driven approach and powered by supplementary resources (to compensate for the lack of dialogues and narration).
Prabhu Deva, Sananth, Indhuja, Deepak Paramesh, Anish Padmanabhan star in the movie. ‘Mercury’ is coming this April 13 to hit the screems and terrorize audiences. And here is the trailer below for you to watch and share your opinions:
