Popular actress Karthiga's marriage with Merin Mathew was solemnized yesterday at St. Mary's Orthodox Church, Thevalakkara.

Hailing from Mainagapalli in Kollam, Merin, the son of Mathew Vaidyan is a medical officer, and is settled in America.

Karthiga who earlier admitted that they have been in love for the last two years have got the consent from their parents and the marriage was a family affair, attended by a fairly large crowd.

Karthiga whose original name is Lidiya Jacob, is the daughter of Malayiram Tiruthupuramadam Veetil P K Jacob and Alice. Karthiga shot to limelight with her roles in movies like ‘Dindukal Sarathy’, 'Nam Nadu'. She also has done some good projects in Malayalam.

Karthiga will hold a reception at Thrikakara Bharat Matha College Auditorium, today, for members of the cine field, and her friends.
